Staff Sergeant Sean R. Harvell

Staff Sergeant Sean R. Harvell earned the Silver Star for extraordinary heroism while serving with Air Force Special Tactics during combat operations in Afghanistan. Under direct enemy fire, Harvell coordinated close air support and worked alongside coalition forces to defeat enemy positions and protect fellow service members. His calm leadership, tactical expertise, and willingness to repeatedly expose himself to danger ensured the success of the mission and the safety of his teammates. Harvell's courage and dedication reflected the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.
